Optical, thermal and radiation shielding properties of B2O3–NaF–PbO–BaO–La2O3 glasses

The techniques of melt-quenching have been used to generate 53B2O3—2NaF—27PbO – $$(20-x)$$ BaO— $$x$$ La2O3 $$(0\le x \ge 15) glass system$$ . XRD patterns established the amorphous character samples. There is a clear evidence role modifier in network. thermal characteristics identified increase with an content. Increasing increases linear and non-linear optical bandgap energy Urbach energy. By adding samples, refractive index, molar polarizability, basicity increased. bulk modulus transition temperature increased because bond strength. number bonds per unit content Many parameters (? $$\boldsymbol{\infty }$$ ), (?o), $${\chi }^{(1)}$$ , $$\left({\chi }^{(3)}\right)$$ $${(n}_{2})$$ as function $${E}_{opt}$$ obtained. extent shielding this article has examined increment at expense BaO. results correspond similar studies conducted before.
